Six Flags Qiddiya
We are excited to share that after 22 months of intense work by our international team, the lighting design of the Six Flags Qiddiya Park is reaching completion.
The theme park will cover a total area of 320,000 square meters and have a level of theming and detailing unseen in any other Six Flags in the world. It will feature 28 rides and attractions of which 10 will be thrill rides, with 18 rides designed for families and young children. All rides and attractions have been designed exclusively for Qiddiya and embody the rich cultural heritage of the location as well as Saudi Arabia.
The central hub of the park will be the Citadel, which will be covered by a billowing canopy inspired by traditional Bedouin tents. From here, visitors will find gateways to each of the themed lands; namely the City of Thrills, Discovery Springs, Steam Town, Twilight Gardens, Valley of Fortune and Grand Exposition.
The Gallegos and UMAYA lighting design team was responsible for creating the interior and exterior lighting experience for all guest viewable spaces and attractions.
Patrick Gallegos, President of Gallegos Lighting Design explains: ”Our partnership with UMAYA Lighting Design was a match made in heaven. Our 40 years’ experience in theme and immersive lighting design combined with UMAYA’s vast experience in large scale and highly complex projects in the Middle East allowed us to deliver this project to a level of detail and attention never seen in any theme park in the region”.
We can’t wait to see it open and try those thrilling rides !
