Langham Hotel

LOCATION: DOHA, QATAR
USE: HOSPITALITY – HIGH RISE
SCOPE: INTERNAL, EXTERNAL, FAÇADE
& LANDSCAPE LIGHTING DESIGN

The main aim of the façade lighting scheme was to interpret and enhance the architectural design intent, as well as celebrate the exquisite project’s location. This was achieved by highlighting the overlapping layers of glazed skin around the core, where each layer represents a flower petal on the verge of blossoming. The lighting color scheme was composed of different shades of warm white, carefully selected to reflect the colors of sunrise, as it appears at the horizon of the sea.

The landscape areas were illuminated in a subtle and elegant manner, with indirect linear lights matching both the tower and podium. Warm color temperatures provide an intimate atmosphere, and guide residents and visitors through the outdoor areas of the complex.

The internal lighting is structured in decorative, general and accent lighting, resulting in rich multi-layered spaces with a relaxed but sophisticated feel. Custom made suspended pieces, inspired on the interior design narrative, provide character and three-dimensionality to the main areas.
