Mirqab Mall

LOCATION: DOHA, QATAR
USE: MALLS & RETAIL
SCOPE: INTERNAL & FAÇADE LIGHTING DESIGN

The facade was carefully treated by placing accent on the key elements, to reveal the classical architectural composition and increase the contrast with the dark glazing areas. The central and corner mases where given priority in the hierarchy system to visually anchor the building and direct visitors to the entrances. All lighting equipment concealed in coves, niches and ledges to avoid any visual clutter during the daytime hours.

The guiding intent for the central indoor plaza was to treat it as an exterior area, to retain the same outdoor feeling which the space conveys during the day. The elevations around it were developed as outdoor facades, respecting the same order and lighting strategies as the main outdoor elevations. The trees and fountain lighting complement this idea, providing focal points and a comfortable outdoor feel.
