We interpreted the façade as a glittering water surface linking the building to the sea. Our intent was to replicate a ripple effect using linear lights along the curved mullions, fading inwards and therefore recreating this natural phenomenon. As light travels towards the centre of the building the attention is drawn to the pearl, which has a shimmering effect unique to its surface. Complementary lighting strategies were used on the secondary façades, podium and entrances, balancing the night composition and bringing the building to a human scale.
