In this particular project, our team was commissioned to develop a comprehensive improvement of the internal and façade lighting. The existing situation was of poor lighting quality with low and inconsistent levels, demanding high maintenance efforts and energy costs. The challenge was not only limited to this, but also included following the existing lighting points and planning the refurbishment without affecting the operation of the mall.

The lighting strategies implemented included the use of more efficient light sources, improved optics and cooler color temperatures, amongst others. The overall lighting improved drastically in terms of uniformity, illuminance, color rendering, glare control, efficiency and consumption; not to mention the general perception of space and consumers experience. On average, the lighting levels increased 70%, with a 20% reduction in energy costs.
